Squires of Porlock is a unique shop offering a range of products and services in the heart of this Exmoor village. Richard and Jackie Growden will meet any and all of your needs for pet food, toys and supplies, wild bird food, specialist deer antler souvenirs from the stags of Exmoor created by Richard himself, floral arrangements and bouquets hand-made to your requirements by Jackie, garden equipment, and a whole range of oddities and quirks to brighten up your home and garden.
In season (May to October), Squires also sell produce on behalf of local growers - no set list, just whatever is cropped at that moment, so guaranteed fresh from the plot and locally sourced.
For the more adventurously minded, Richard also operates Discovery Safaris of Porlock from the shop; small groups picked up from the village car park and taken on a magical mystery tour of the wilds of the moor, with its stunning views and wide range of wildlife and flora - from red deer and hawks to wild whortleberries in the Autumn. Truly a trip not to be missed on your visit to the West Country. The tours last approximately two and a half hours in a fully-equipped Land Rover (binoculars available) with all seats front-facing - but remember to bring wet-weather gear as the moors can be changeable in a trice !
